Frequently Asked Questions

How did the goslings get down from the tree?

Young Canada Geese fledge (leave the nest) the same day they hatch. They simply fluttered down the 18 feet to the grassy boulevard below, which was very simple for these fluffy 1 ounce youngsters.

Does having a resident cat have a negative effect on your work painting birds?

My little house cat Agnes, actually sees and hears birds before I do. She was the one who first saw the tiny Ruby-crowned Kinglet sitting high atop my Lilac tree, as well as the male Wilson's Warbler peeking in while perched on my windowsill. She now totally ignores the more common birds.

Have you ever had any pet birds (or other pets) since you like to paint them so much?

Yes. Here are a few listed that go back to my early childhood: two Zebra Finches, one blue-yellow Budgie (Reggie), a Gloster Beatle Canary, a black rabbit (Raisin), a purebred Wire-fox Terrier (Parsley), as well as two spring peeper frogs, and a pet Bullfrog (Frederick) I shared with my older brother John.

Do I create my paintings in my Bird House Art Studio around back?

As it happens, I still have a "room with a view" inside my home that I work from. The wonderful thing about my studio show room out back, is that is divides up my work and home life.
