Tour the "Bird House Art Studio"
|
This hand painted cat, now on the front door of the art studio,
is one of the many "Trompe L'oeil" art pieces that welcome you.
|
"The Walkway of Birdhouses" is a trail of unique handmade
birdhouses that lead directly to Canada's largest birdhouse.
|
The "Toadstool Tea Party" will be the first to greet
you as you come around to the back yard. In the summer it has fish, and an abundance
of birds using the water feature.
|
The front of my "Bird House Art Studio" has a bright
red door, and a "Bird House" style window. The bricks and hollyhocks
are hand painted.
|
My bird and botanical artwork, along with the work of over
10 other Canadian artists, fills my 400 square foot studio space. Most of
the artist's work is only represented here, and at no other Western Canada
locations.
|
The 10' high walls of the studio show a diverse selection of
watercolours, oil paintings, framed quilts etc. A lovely assortment of
completely Canadian made pottery, blown glass, sculpture and woodwork
also fill the space.
|
The studio is heated by a Vermont Cast Iron gas stove. The
flagstones, complete with tiny mushrooms and a dragonfly, have been painted
directly on the floor. This effect, as well as many other "Trompe
L'oeil" art can be commissioned through my studio.
|
Unique "One of a kind" furniture available - this tree
stump "Chess Table" is sculpted from iron and steel and finished with
copper patina. Everything at my "Bird House Art Studio" relates to a
fanciful garden botanical theme.
